HOMELESS: THE MOTEL KIDS OF ORANGE COUNTY

“A-“- Entertainment Weekly

“resonates quite powerfully” – Variety

“a film worth the making and the watching” – Los Angeles Times

“a particularly heart-breaking blend of innocence and experience…Pelosi advances a theme of the failed American dream” – New York Times

“building on past successes, Pelosi might easily have looked toward a more glittering or sexy subject. Instead, she turned her attention to a world and a population that, almost by definition, is beneath notice” – LA Times

Homeless: The Motel Kids of Orange County chronicles one summer in the lives of homeless children living in Orange County, CA — one of the wealthiest regions of the U.S. Their parents work low-paying jobs and hope for a raise or a chance at a better life while working week-to-week in inadequate housing. These “motel kids” end up with a lifestyle devoid of hope and dreams, mitigated only by their imagination and youthful exuberance.
